We Invite Our Neighbor
Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?  And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:3-7

Oftentimes, we find ourselves being carried by Jesus through trying times, points of stress, despair and even when we are one of the sheep who may have strayed off from the flock.  Just as we are often carried by Jesus, we also have the power to find lost sheep and carry them with us to hear the good news of Jesus' love for us.  Who do you know that is lost?  Who needs to be carried back to the flock?  How can you carry them?  Write down the people that come to mind and pray for them and how you will reach them this year.  See you Sunday!

We Serve to Make a Difference

We Serve to Make a Difference.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."  1 Peter 4:10

Every day we are presented with opportunities to serve one another.  Some opportunities are huge such as the international mission trip and some are much smaller such as donating a can good to the co-op or simply holding the door for someone else.  No matter the size of the opportunity, they are equally important.  We have many opportunities currently and upcoming to serve at the church this year.  Look around and seek out those special areas where you can contribute.  Step out of your comfort zone this year and see the difference.  See you Sunday!

    We Grow Taller

    We Grow Taller.

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." Martin Luther King, Jr.

Just as in the example Alex shared this week of Dabo Swinney success comes one step at a time.  Success in your career, relationships and life in general requires perseverance, hard work, dedication, commitment and a major dose of...faith.  Faith is a journey.  One day at a time, one step at a time and sometimes one minute at a time but we are all on a journey to strengthen our faith.  Growth, maturity and success in faith happen over time as does our connection to one another through faith.  Have you thought about your three ways to grow in faith?  Make sure to write them down and let God work in you and when he does you will shine like the brightness of the heavens (Daniel 12:3)!  See you Sunday!

    We Connect More Deeply

    We connect more deeply.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25

We have been challenged to "connect more deeply" in our current series "This Is the Year".  How will you connect more deeply this year?  Not just for yourself but with others.  How will you plan so you are not reactive this year rather purposeful and full of resolve for a fresh start to connect with one another?  We have many ways to connect with one another this year at Dacula UMC.  See below for upcoming events and missions that need YOU to be successful!  As the Scripture above suggests, we must work together to spur one another towards good deeds and meeting together.  How will you connect deeper this year?  Create your plan and have a fantastic week!
